December 1 Tournament Results
On Saturday, December 1, Seymour Middle School hosted 272 debaters from 22 schools. This is the CT Middle School Debate League’s largest tournament to date!
Many thanks to everyone who made this possible:
- Seymour coaches: Harvey Catlin, Carol Wood and Jennifer Monaco for hosting.
- Many High School debaters who not only judged all day long but also ran Debater Workshops and Games.
- Coaches, parents and supporters who judged and tabbed and served pizza and made the day happen.
- The English Speaking Union, Greenwich Branch, and Director Robert Whitby for their continued generous support of all CTMSDL events!
Middle Schoolers debated the motion:
This House would allow incarcerated felons to vote.
In the final round, the South Orangetown team of MacDonnell, Fowler & Tobin prevailed on Prop on a 3-2 decision over the Eastern Middle School (Riverside) team of Chang, Grover & Schaumburg.
