Invitation to October 17 Scrimmage
On behalf of Luis Munoz Marin School and Ron Rapice of the Bridgeport Public School Debate League, the Connecticut Middle School Debate League would like to invite you to this season’s first event, a demonstration debate, skill-building workshop and scrimmage, on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 9:30 am — 2:30 pm.
You may download and print a pdf copy of the Scrimmage Invitation. It includes directions for registering for the event on tabroom.com, the day’s schedule, and information about teams’ judging burdens and lunch.
Please note that observers are welcome and there is no cap on the number of teams a school may enter. You may begin registering your teams on tabroom.com now. Registration will close at 6 pm on Friday, October 16. Schools need not have paid their $50 dues to the CTMSDL to attend. Look for an email explaining how to pay dues after the scrimmage.
Please refer to the CTMSDL Handbook for information on our format and rules. You may also download Judge’s Instructions for information on how the rounds should be adjudicated and scored.
Please respond to this email to let us know the following so we can plan accordingly:
- Will your school attend? (You may change your mind over the next 2 weeks.)
- Roughly how many debaters and adults will you bring to the scrimmage?
(This number may change a lot over the next 2 weeks, we just need a rough count now.)
- Roughly how many observers (students and adults) will you bring? (This number may also change.)
