January 23 Tournament Invitation
On behalf of Eastern Middle School and Coach Bruce Johnson, the CT Middle School Debate League invites you to compete in our next tournament, on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 9:30 am — 3:00 pm. Our snow date will be the following Saturday, January 30,at the same location.
Debaters should come prepared to both propose and oppose the motion:
This House believes that the United States should curtail free speech rights in order to combat terrorism.
You may download the full invitation . It includes directions for registering for the event, the day’s schedule, and information about teams’ judging burdens and lunch.
Observers are welcome and do not need to register. There is no cap on the number of teams a school may enter. You may begin registering teams and judges on tabroom.com now. Registration will close at 6 pm on Friday, January 22.

Please note that tickets for pizza and drinks will be sold between 9:30 and 10:00 am, not during lunchtime. Thanks to our sponsor, the English Speaking Union, Greenwich Branch, we will provide judges with pizza and drinks.
Please email us to let us know if you plan to attend so we can recruit enough High School debaters to judge. (You may change your mind before tournament day!)
