April 21 Tournament Motion Announced

We are happy to announce the motion for the tournament on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Eastern Middle School in Riverside, Greenwich:

This House believes that Artificial Intelligence will do more good than harm.

Debaters should prepare to argue both for and against the motion. During three rounds they will be on each side at least once.  To help you prepare you may find the following link useful:

We will send out an invitation and open Tabroom for registration two weeks prior to the tournament (around April 7).  The tournament will follow our usual format, and run from 9:30AM to approximately 3:45PM.

At the last tournament there was some confusion on the length of the speeches and prep time:

• Constructive speeches are 5 minutes
• Rebuttal speeches are 4 minutes
• One minute of Prep time prior to the Second Prop Constructive, First and Second Opp Constructives, and Prop Rebuttal is mandatory.
